Claire surprised both herself and me when she rolled from her tummy to her back today...without any help!

Ladie's Night

Art was gone this weekend at his annual guy's weekend, so Grandma Cindy and Aunt Amy came over to keep Claire and I company on Friday night. We also made a trip to visit Grandpa on Saturday afternoon and hung out with Michelle and Will Saturday night.

We definitely kept ourselves busy while Art was gone, but were happy to see him when he returned yesterday. Claire's eyes lit up when he walked in the door and she greeted him with some big smiles.

Routine

Claire's biggest struggle has always been falling asleep.

Mom got frustrated last week and decided that it was time to try something new.

Now when Claire starts to show signs of being tired (yawning, tired eyes, etc.), Mom swaddles her up, reads her 'Goodnight Moon', and puts her in the crib to fall asleep.

So far we have had huge success with the routine. Don't get me wrong, she still has her 'moments', but they are far less than before.

And she has been sleeping 5-6 hours at night, eating, and then going back to sleep for 3-4 more hours. Could be a coincidence...guess we will find out.

In a matter of 20 minutes, I was able to capture the following faces of Claire. Pretty funny.

Bath Time - Revisited

Over the last week or two, Claire has overcome her hate of bath time. Now bath time is filled with a lot less tears and a lot more smiles.

Too Good to be True

Tuesday night Claire did the unthinkable and slept from 11pm-5am - 6 uninterrupted hours of slept!!

When Mom and Dad put Claire to bed last night they secretly hoped that they were in for another peaceful night of sleep. Claire had other plans and was back to her usual self - only 4 or so hours of uninterrupted sleep before she woke up hungry.

Other updates on the Claire front...she is becoming very alert and recognizes both Mom and Dad's voices. She has also started to really focus on objects. She enjoys bright lights, toys with lights and sound, and music. She continues to fight sleep every chance she gets, usually getting quite mad before she finally gives in.

One Month Old

Claire reached the one month mark today. We celebrated by giving Claire her first stroller ride around the neighboorhood. Mom was very happy it was warm enough to get outside and enjoy the fresh air.

More Smiles...

Happy New Year

With the new addition to our family, this proved to be one of the more tame New Year's celebrations that we have had. Pete and Emily helped us celebrate with great wine, a steak dinner and a little wine trivia.
