Merry Christmas

We had two great Christmas celebrations - Christmas Eve with Angie's side and Christmas Day with Art's side. Both days were filled with great food, conversation, and entertainment by all the little ones. Claire slept through most of the celebrations, waking up breifly for feedings and diaper changes.

Playtime

Claire's best time of the day is early morning into mid-afternoon. She enjoys laying on her back, kicking her feet in the air and giving Mom & Dad lots of smiles.

An Evening of Thai

We hosted our second annual 'country-themed' holiday dinner with the Kirschbaum's on Saturday night. The selected country this year was Thailand. Our menu consisted of fresh spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken soup, pad thai, and sticky rice with mangos. Everything turned out great except for the dessert, but who would have thought sticky rice with mangos would be good anyway?!?! Thankfully we had a back-up plan in place for the dessert and enjoyed mint chocolate chip ice cream instead.

Well Rested

Claire must of sensed that Mom & Dad were pretty tired, so she decided to give us a few extra hours of sleep last night. She slept from 9:30 - 1:00, then from 1:30 - 4:45, and finally from 5:15 - 6:00. A good 7-plus hours of sleep!! Mom & Dad are not counting on this happening again any time soon...

Meeting of the Cousins

The three Boylan cousins finally met a few nights ago. Claire was very excited to see her cousin Meghan again and was thrilled to finally meet cousin Sam from Chicago. Sam is almost 3 weeks older than Claire, so it was fun to see them next to eachother. It should be an eventful Christmas at the Boylan's this year. Here's a picture of the three cousins:

Bottle Feeding

Mom has a hair cut/color appointment today that might take a couple of hours. In order to avoid leaving Dad stranded with a hungry baby, Claire had her first bottle last night. She finished it like the eating champ she is, in record time.

We also made a trip back to the pediatrician yesterday, and Claire is now weighing in at 8 lbs, 12 oz...quite the little gainer since her birth weight was only 8 lbs, 2 oz.

Tummy Time

Claire rocked a little tummy time last night and to our surprise she kind of liked it. She even held her head up for a few seconds before letting it drop.

Also, Dad was dying to try the Baby Bjorn yesterday. So far she seems pretty content in it.

New Activities

Claire had her first bath at home this morning. Let's just say that it was by no means her new favorite activity. Mom and Dad had to move very quickly to get her clean with minimal crying.

Claire also had her first visit to the pediatrician today. She got a great report. She weighed in at 8lbs even, only 2oz shy of her birth weight. She also had one last jaundice test, which came back with great results. We should now be in the clear as far as jaundice is concerned. Mom and Dad are both very relieved.

Home Sweet Home

After saying goodbye to all of the lovely nurses (both good ones and bad ones), we took that very careful car ride home. Then the grandparents came over to eat pizza. Claire slept most of the evening and stayed up all night (literally). Here's some photos from the last few days.

Day Two

We had a few visitors at the hospital, worried about juandice for most of the day, and have a few more photos to share.

Day One

Claire is doing well. Angie is too.

The delivery was really tough. Angie was a trooper and then they decided that we needed to do a c-section. Today has been easier than yesterday. Angie is off the heavy drugs and she has been out of bed a few times.

Here's some photos.

Bags are packed....

No pics, but our bags are packed and we are ready to go.

We are scheduled to go to the hospital this evening and be induced early tomorrow.

Wish us luck.

Holiday Decorating

Since our little one is being quite stubborn and insisting to stay in mom for a few more days, we decided to get our holiday decorating done this weekend. While the snowy weather made traveling for our tree more challenging, with a little Christmas music it put us in the holiday spirit in no time.
