Impulse Buy

We have been debating about whether or not to purchase a jogging stroller for quite some time. After Pete & Emily's post last week and the nice weekend weather, we ran out and bought one this afternoon. I had the chance to try it out tonight and it worked great. Claire seemed to enjoy it as well.

Baptism

Claire was baptized this morning. She handled the pouring of water over her head very well and was happy to become an official member of the congregation. Our families were there to help us celebrate this big event. Afterward everyone headed to our place for lunch. Thanks to everyone for being a part of Claire's day!

Friday Fun

A fun photo from this morning. I love the look of excitement in her eyes.

In other news, Claire rolled from her back to her tummy for the first time last night. I caught it on video this morning:

Easter Sunday

We had a wonderful Easter celebration on Sunday. We started the day off by going to church. We were a little nervous about Claire behaving in church, but she did great. She loved the music and spent much of the service flirting with the old man in the pew behind us. After church we headed over to my grandparent's for an afternoon of family and food. All in all, a great day.

The Joy of Daycare

Claire has officially picked up her first cold from daycare. She has been super congested since Monday night and has developed a little cough to go along with it. :( Both Art & I feel terrible because there is not a whole lot we can do for her. If only she could blow her nose, I'm sure she would feel a lot better...I'm guessing that won't be happening anytime soon. Fortunately, she has been a trooper and has been in a pretty good mood. Hopefully, it won't hang on forever and she will be on the road to recovery soon.

In other news, her orange bumbo chair arrived in the mail this afternoon. Here's a picture of Claire trying it out.

Stripes

I have been waiting for Claire to fit into this outfit and now that she finally does I thought it deserved a photo shoot.

St. Patrick's Day

We headed over to the St. Patrick's Day Celebration at the Landmark Center in St. Paul this morning. Kristine and Meghan were also there (but we just missed seeing the Flannerys). Now that we have Clarie, it is a different type of celebation.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Art turns another year older today. Claire wanted to wish her daddy a very happy birthday!
Grandma & Grandpa are coming over to watch Claire tonight, so we can head out to dinner at the Corner Table to celebrate. Looking forward to it!

Spring Fever!

We took advantage of the 50 degree weather after work tonight and went for a walk. It was the first time we were able to go on a walk without having Claire's face completely covered up. She seemed to enjoy the ride...at least the portion she was awake for. :) Lets hope more warm weather is on the horizon!

Precious Time

As most of you know, I headed back to work yesterday. Dropping Claire off at daycare for the first time was an emotional experience to say the least. It was so hard to hand her off to someone else for the entire day. The good news is that she did just fine both yesterday and today. She seems to be napping, eating and playing well, so I am grateful for that. I have also been pleased with the teachers in her room. All these things do make it a little bit easier to leave her.

The not so great news is that by the time we get home, play, eat dinner and bathe Claire, it is time for her to go to bed. I guess it makes you appreciate the moments you do get to share a little bit more. I am already looking forward to Friday.

Thanks to all of you that have offered encouragment and support this week. I appreciate it.

That's the update. Unfortunately I have not had time to snap any new photos the last couple of days, so this will have to do.

Impressions

We spent this afternoon working on a little project for Claire's room. We received this baby keepsake kit as a gift when Claire was born. It is basically a frame that includes her footprint, handprint and a picture of her. We figured we better get moving on this before her hands and feet were too big to fit in the impression material. Here are some pictures from the project:

Big Girl Chair

We busted out the high chair for the first time tonight. Not because Claire is eating solid food yet, but because she insists on being a part of dinner every night. We have tried numerous times to put her in the bouncy chair on the floor, but she never lasts all that long. Once we hold her in our laps and she can watch us eat, she is more than content. However, eating and holding her at the same time is never ideal.

She seemed to like the high chair okay - at least she let us get through dinner (granted we are accustomed to speed eating these days).

Exersaucer

Here's Claire in her exersaucer for the first time. I wasn't sure if she was big enough or if she would even like it, but thought I would give it a try. Despite the fact that her feet barely touch the bottom, she LOVED it. She thought it was great that she could stand up without any assistance from mom or dad...she is an independent one, that is for sure.

Three Months Old

Happy Three Months Old, Claire!!

Interesting Tidbits About Claire at Three Months:
  • She still LOVES to play on the floor. Preferably on her back, but will tolerate tummy time in small increments.
  • She continues to roll from tummy to back, but has not yet mastered back to tummy. She can only make it to her side and then she gets stuck.
  • She goes to bed around 7:30-8:00pm and wakes up for the day around 6:00-6:30am. She still wakes up once in the middle of the night to eat...mom hopes she is done with this by month four. :)
  • She loves when people hold her in a sitting or standing position. She also enjoys 'dancing' with dad (usually a nightly performace).
  • She is very alert and curious. She is also becoming quite good with her hands. In addition to being able to get them in her mouth, she is able to reach for toys and bat at things.
  • She has mastered the art of drooling as evidenced by the big circle of wetness on her shirt each evening.
  • She loves bathtime.
  • She enjoys both music (she gets this from Art) and books. Her favorite stories include 'Goodnight Moon', 'Pajama Time', 'Moo, Baa, La, La, La' and any one with a peek-a-boo flap.
  • And best of all, she if full of SMILES and is COOING like crazy! I think we are even getting close to a real laugh!

We truly enjoy and adore her!

Play Date!

Michelle and Will came over Friday afternoon. It was so nice to visit and to see how much Will has changed...what a cutie. He is crawling everywhere (and he is FAST) and pulling himself up on furniture. He is turning into quite the little boy. Thanks again for stopping by!
