Chicago

We headed to Chicago this weekend to visit Katie and Steve. Art's parents were there for the weekend as well. We enjoyed a backyard BBQ, took in a Cubs game, and hung out with the family.

The Odd Couple

Hubert Wanning and Savannah Steele got familiar with eachother during our visit to Glenwood. Although Savannah certainly runs faster, Hubert (the little tank) held his own by tripping Savannah at every opportunity.

Meanwhile, Steele gave Pete a tour of his "property" - a Glenwood term for absurdly large tracts of land.

Trip to see the Steele Baby

Along with Pete and Emily, we drove to Glenwood, IA last weekend to visit the Steeles. It was wonderful to see the Steeles, their new home, and the new baby.

We had a great visit with Pete's parents, Mark and Elizabeth, who were nice enough to put us up for the weekend. Pete's younger brother Matt had to put up with us as well.

Art suspects Colin was a misleading example of a three-week old baby. He ate, slept, and played. But he never cried. Not once. (This is suspicious. Very suspicious.)

Fourth of July BBQ

Happy Birthday America.

Competitive Rodeo Golf. Burgers on the Grill. Cold Beer.

Some sunshine (and a very sudden but brief rain shower).

Big Art, Big Kate, Larry, Cindy, Kristine, Carl, Meghan, Debbie, Katrina, and the Wannings all came to our house to celebrate.

Sammy Sweets

Samantha Rose Sweetman made an appearance at Wine Club on Saturday, creating a new record for the youngest wine club attendee (a mere 5 days old).

By the way, Will Flannery no longer holds the record. He waited more than six weeks before making an appearance at Wine Club.

Outdoor Summer Tunes

We went to Lake Harriet for one of the outdoor concerts and a picnic on Sunday evening. (It is a huge hit with the stroller set). Here's a few pics:

Some People Call It Couvade (18 Weeks)

"In some cases, fathers can grow a belly similar to a 7 month pregnant woman and gain approximately 25 to 30 pounds." As of Sunday, Art had put on the same number of LBs as Angie. Here's a picture of both of us at 18 weeks.
